Hey there!

I'm Shannon,

I'm an executive coach, leadership & career mentor

...but not your conventional, blue suit wearing, golf playing,

executive coach or mentor.

This is a NEW era of leadership.

Our future is in the hands of the next generation.

It's time for you to step up and join the next generation of

disruptive leaders

in·no·vate  /ˈinəˌvāt/  verb:

to make change : to do something in a new way

lead·er  /ˈlēdər/  noun:

a person willing to put plans & actions into effect

Everything is changing,

even WHO is considered an "executive" or leadership has changed.

Not that long ago, my unconventional leadership philosophy

"We Are All Leaders"

was disregarded as Pollyanna, despite my consistent ability to create high-performing teams with the very same people marked "not leadership material" and tagged for dismissal.

I preferred the correct term "hidden talent."

Everyone is leadership material.

Anyone can learn to lead.

And whether you realize it or not, somewhere in your life,

you hold a leadership position.

dis·rupt  /disˈrəpt/  verb:

to drastically alter the structure of something

I started my professional career in New York City where I sang professionally for nearly a decade - so I understand cut throat nature of competition and was fortunate to work under the music industries greatest leaders.

I sang regularly at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal, and St. John the Divine.

I had the honor of performing many times with the New York City Philharmonic and with many of the world's most renowned conductors and musicians including Kurt Masur, Renée Fleming, and Paul McCartney.

I also worked at Goldman Sachs on Wall Street. This is where I learned what high stakes and the bottom line really meant. It's also where I started my formal leadership training.

It was some of the best real world corporate experience I could ask for. I'd held leadership positions all my life, but this is the first time I had formal training and really began to understand how and why good leadership worked (and didn't) and how to bring out the best in people.

And as good as my life was in New York, I was unhappy.

I was following, not leading.

I was following the cultural rules, and I craved something more authentic.

It was time to stop fulfilling someone else's plan for me - and

live my own dream

So I took a leap, and moved to Alaska.

Two months later, I was living a life-long dream. I flew up for a summer job to work for a dog mushing company on a glacier in Alaska and I've been here ever since.

Alaska has been a never ending, authentic love affair.

I trained dog teams for a top Iditarod musher and led a critical program turnaround for the race itself, learning a different kind of toughness and leadership.

When I decided to shift back to IT, I quickly became the youngest and first female CIO over technology for the local government leading another turnaround for a department on the brink of disaster and led one of the largest geospatial mapping project in the state.

I am well known for my ability to wholistically bring chaos into order.

I understand the inner struggle of authentic, innovative, disruptive leadership because I've lived it and studied it for so many years.

Finding the delicate balance between...

...disruption and destruction

...taking care of yourself and taking care of business

...owning who you are and doing what's required

...and of using your natural strengths and bringing out the strengths of others.

My wide professional experience makes me a unique resource for real-world industry advice - I'm someone who's been there.

I've received top honors at the University of Montana and studied at the University of Virginia and Stanford University.

I've been certified by Kathy Kolbe, a leading authority on human instinct, and Dr. Martha Beck, a Harvard educated sociologist specializing in human behavior.

Disruptive leadership is challenging.

The rules aren't cut and dry and it's largely uncharted territory.

It's more like bushwacking up an unknown mountain than commuting on the six-lane freeway with a latte.

You might be building your first company or leading a movement.

You may be the first of your kind in your role or aspiring to a top level position to bring about global change.

Whatever it is, disruptive leadership will be some of the most challenging and rewarding work you'll ever do.

It will push you to become more -

to become the best version of yourself possible.

You'll create something totally new in the world, and in yourself.

Blue suits and conformity were perfect in the last era, but the needs of leadership have changed.

When I started in management, this new leadership style was called rule-breaking, unconventional, and disruptive (but not in a good way).

These days it's the new standard.

If you don’t know where to start, check out Discover What You Were Born to Do, It’s a four-part series that will walk you through the same process I used to find my strengths, and create the life I wanted. It’s how I figured out how to do what I love and live an adventurous life in remote Alaska. I’d love to have you.

If you're ready to step up & challenge the status quo...

If you know there's has to be a better way...

If you're ready to step up to

be part of the new era of leadership...

You are in the right place...

"If you have a dream or don’t have a dream but want to find out what your dream is, I would highly recommend her."

"Our work together has led to an explosion of understanding of what I want to accomplish in the world and in my life. I am more alert, awake, and aware especially of myself."

"Once, I didn't know anything. I had the script. I was an ascendant manager. In line for an executive position. But the script was a lie. It didn't fit. I couldn't give two shits about what lay ahead. It was someone else's life. My fire inside lay hidden from view, including my own. By working with Shannon, not only did I discover my fire but I kicked the bottle over and let it spread like wildfire. Like Greek fire."
