5-Minute Breathing Exercise

This series is designed to help you establish a daily habit of regulating your nervous system. If you aren't able to keep a daily habit at the 5-minute level, go back to the 1-minute version.

 

Daily consistency and the habit of keeping commitments to yourself is more important than how long you spend doing it. Enjoy this time and acknowledge yourself for the good work you are doing.

If this 5-Minute breathing exercise is a type of nervous system regulation practice that is helpful for you, you may benefit from the Calm on Command Extended Series. Calm on Command is designed to help you establish a daily habit of regulating your nervous system with a small-step approach to establishing a nervous system regulation practice. The recordings range from 1 minute to 60 minutes in 5 minute increments. There is even a 60 minute breathing practice for sleep that I highly recommend.
